October 10th by Joe Stakun
If you have visted the I Love My Bicycle Site recently and experienced any difficulties, sorry about that. The site went down for about a day because apparently it was hacked into by a Porn site.
Since we last spoke I Love My Bicycle had an awesome premier in London with a new video by Carhartt. I was super honored when I saw the enthusasium from London. I even caught this on the 4Down Twitter!
I've never been to the UK but love following all the awesome stuff that goes on over there. I was pumped to be able to meet Ian Morris of United Bike Co and interview him for the film.
Again, I Love My Bicycle is scheduled to be released on DVD in December. Also keep your eyes peeled for a new trailer!
Brawling at the Belmar
September 10th 2009 by Joe Stakun
FBM's Final Round of Brawling at the Belmar went down last weekend. It was a wild time. Expect some coverage of the event as a DVD extra when the film is out on DVD. Here is an edit I put together for ESPN BMX.
Los Angeles Screening and Patchwork
September 3rd 2009 by Joe Stakun
Thanks to everybody who came out the LA screening. It was a bummer the theater's projector was a bit off kilter, but still a great time.
Again the film will be available on DVD in late November early December. The first run of DVD's will come with some rad bonus items. Including these patches to sew on your threads.
stay great.
NACHO AVERAGE JUMPING
CONTEST!
August 26th 2009 by Joe Stakun
This last weekend FBM put on the first Nacho Average Jumping Contest. I was personally waiting for this contest like a kid on Christmas and rightfully so it ended up being one of the best times I've ever had. Oderus signed my old Gwar VHS tapes!
Take a bunch of riders. Have them jump over a giant vat of delicious Nachos. Get Mat Hoffman to Judge. And why not have Oderus Urungus from Gwar do the announcing.
A childhood dream checked off the bucket list.
Mat administering one of his famous tattoos. You'll be able to catch some of this video on the web in a week or so. Also as a DVD extra when the film comes out in November/December.
Right now I'm in Los Angeles hanging out for the week and getting ready for the LA Premier of I Love My Bicycle. Scroll over the screenings for more info.
Austin in Review.
August 13th 2009 by Joe Stakun
The screening of ILMB was a success in Austin with a packed house! Director and BMX legend Joe Rich was there with his short Train Trip. I also got to make it out to Austin for a good time. Here I am timidly introducing the film. While down there I got to get a great on camera interview with Graphic Designer Adam Roye which should be up on the ESPN site next week. You can check his stuff out at www.AdamRoye.com.
The film is set to play in Chicago this Saturday, if you're in the area check it out. I'll be here in Philadelphia working untill this . . . And then off to Los Angeles for a screening. So if your out in LA at the end of the month come hang out.
Austin TX Premier Tonight!
AUGUST 8th 2009
I Love My Bicycle will be premiering in Austin Texas tonight! Present will be the director Joe Stakun, and the director of Train Trip Joe Rich. Also rumored to be present is top notch ramp builder Ryan Coorigan, as well as some of the best bmx riders from Austin. If your in the area it's going to be an awesome time. The film starts at 7PM at 501 Studio but there should be some riding before hand. Tickets available over on the screenings page or at the door.
Ride Magazine, SF, and Urban Outfitters
Thanks to Ryan Fudger and the guys over at Ride Magazine for an awesome article on ILMB. Be sure to check out this issue of Ride Magazine when it hit's stores.
Also ILMB just screened at the San Francisco Bicycle Film Festival last weekend. I heard it was pretty awesome. FBM's head welder Dave Harrison's parents were in attendance and were stoked! There was a gnarly long jump contest before the screening. Here is a photo I found on Brian Vernor's flikr. . . nuts.
ILMB also screened last night at Urban Outfitters headquarters for their employee movie night. It was a good time. Awesome to meet employees who had roots in BMX and all those folks. Thanks for the support!
ILMB is set to screen next in Portland Oregon August 1st followed by Austin Texas August 8th! If you're in the area check it out. Tickets available over on the screenings page!
Dig Magazine, RVA, and Beyond!
July 12, 2009
Dig BMX Magazine has always been one of my favorite magazines. So I am honored to have an interview about ILMB in the newest issue. Thanks a bunch to Rob Dolecki, Brian Tunney, and the folks at Dig for the great words and interview. Be sure to pick up a copy at your local shop or Barnes and Noble/Borders type establishment.
This past Friday ILMB had simultaneous premiers in both Minneapolis and Richmond VA! Here are some photos shot by Bob Quark from the RVA screening.
There are many folks asking about when the film will be available. The DVD will hopefully be out in 4-5 months. Check the screenings page as venue's and times are always being posted. There may be a third screening over in Australia as well as a premier for Germany!
If you're in San Francisco next Saturday July 18th, ILMB will be playing at the Victoria Theater at 7PM. Tickets available HERE
Philadelphia Premier
July 2nd
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Philadelphia Premier! It was truly an awesome time. The film had an incredible reception with the Moore College of Art and Design; great food, rad music, and dudes riding the Art Gallery like a skatepark with Ryan Humphries, "Fast Forward." I can honestly say it may have been the only time I could ride a bike in an art gallery, also the only time to 80's hair metal is blasting in an art gallery for over an hour!
Big Thanks to Brock Gomez who put together a great interview that was posted on the ESPN site today. Thanks Brock and ESPN for the great interview and nice words!
NYC World Premier
June 24th
The World Premier went down last weekend in NYC without a hitch. Thanks to everyone who came out and had an awesome time! Not a seat open in the house with a bunch of folks from the film in attendance. I couldn't have asked for a better response. Check out all these awesome photos!
The Film will be premiering Philadelphia this weekend June 26th with the Bicycle Film Festival. You can Rerserve tickets here before it sells out!
There will also be a screening on Sunday the 28th with the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. More info here
